This Privacy Policy explains how Garage Desk (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Garage Desk mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). Information we collect

• Account information — name, email address and authentication details when you sign up or sign in (including via Google Sign-In).
• Shop data you enter — customers, vehicles, jobs, estimates, invoices, inventory and inspection records you create in the app.
• Usage and device data — basic technical information (device type, app version, crash logs) used to keep the Service working.

How we use your information

• To provide, operate and maintain the Service.
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To generate documents such as estimates and invoices.
• To respond to support requests and send service-related notices.
• To diagnose problems and improve the app.

Legal bases (UK/EU users)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, your consent (where requested), and compliance with legal obligations.

How your data is stored and shared

Your data is hosted by our cloud infrastructure provider, which acts as our data processor. Access is protected with row-level security so each shop can only access its own records. We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service, or where required by law.

Data retention

Records you delete are soft-deleted and recoverable for 30 days, after which they are permanently removed. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights in-app or by contacting us. See our Data Deletion page for how to delete your account and data.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, row-level security and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where it is, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Children

Garage Desk is intended for business use and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
